DR. RICHARD EZIKE

Professionals Chairperson

As an engineer, community servant, and researcher, Dr. Ezike strives to employ my expertise to engage the community on issues related to environmental protection, transportation equity, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) advocacy. He has I have worked at the Urban Institute, Union of Concerned Scientists, and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation on issues related to transportation equity, smart cities, and sustainability. He is deeply involved in the National Society of Black Engineers, where he is serving as the Chair of the Region 2 Professionals Board, which supports chapters in the states of WV, DE, PA, NC, VA, SC, and MD, and in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.

FAVOUR NERRISE

Chairperson

Favour Nerrise is a senior at the University of Maryland, College Park (Go Terps!), studying Computer Engineering and Mathematics with minors in Arabic and Global Engineering Leadership. Primarily identifying as Cameroonian, #237, Favour is an advocate of giving back to her community, currently by building her first STEM-focused school in Cameroon. On campus, Favour is heavily involved in various leadership and athletic opportunities, having served through the Student Government Association, Terp Toastmaster's, National Council of Negro
Women, Women in Engineering Student Advisory Board, a student-athlete through Gymkana and Club Gymnastics, and of course, through NSBE. She has been a NSBE member and leader for 8 years now. She served as UMD’s Chapter President in 2018-2019 and RII Treasurer and Finance Chairperson in 2019-2020 and is currently the Region II Chairperson.

MALYK LOGAN

Vice-Chairperson

Malyk Logan is a senior at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia or the 757 (the best part of Virginia)! Malyk has been a member of NSBE since his Freshman year and quickly decided he wanted to be more active on campus. As his sophomore year rolled around, he found himself deep in leadership while taking on the role of Academic Excellence Chair on the board of NSBE and is a Spring 2020 initiate of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. This year Malyk will be serving as the Region II Vice-Chairperson and plans to help the Region set standards and build a family atmosphere while keeping the Model Region on top. In his free time, he likes to workout, play video games, collect shoes, or watch sports on TV. After graduation Malyk plans to work with the defense department with high level weaponry and airplanes or go into Patent Law. He is honored to be chosen for this position and is more than ready to serve the HYPEST region.

RICHARD PRENTIS

Secretary

Richard (Rich) Prentis is a current 5th year senior at Old Dominion University. He is from Richmond, Virginia. Rich is currently majoring in Civil Engineering with a double minor in Engineering Management and Civil Engineering Technology with a concentration in Construction. His past NSBE experience includes Chapter Secretary, Chapter President, and Regional Leadership Initiative Task Force (RLITF). Also, Rich has a significant amount of external leadership experience, holding positions as Assistant Program Director, Program Coordinator, and
Treasurer. This year Rich serves as the Region II Secretary. While serving as the Region II Secretary, Rich desires to create continuity within all regional documentation and increase overall communication between the Regional Executive Board and membership. In his free time, Rich enjoys cooking, bowling, hunting, fishing, and of course gaming. Rich doesn’t always say much, but his work speaks for itself. #shhh

IMANI CARTER

Treasurer

Imani Carter is a junior at the University of Delaware (UDel) majoring in Biomedical Engineering. She was both born and raised in Maryland. Imani has been involved in NSBE since her freshman year, leading her to run for treasurer of the UDel Chapter which she served in her sophomore year. After being involved in NSBE her freshman and sophomore year Imani continued to become more involved in campus life by being on a leadership council for RISE (Resources to Inspire Successful Engineers), becoming a mentor to freshman, and being a campus coordinator for the Beya Conference. This year Imani will serve
as the Region II Treasurer and plans to navigate the region through these hard-financial times post the COVID-19 outbreak. Post-college Imani wants to go to graduate school and earn her MBA. In her free time, she likes to read, cook, bake, and watch anime.

RODERICK RENFROW

Programs Chairperson

Roderick Renfrow is a senior, majoring in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and General Business at the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, Virginia. After graduation, he plans to earn an MBA/MEng dual degree with a concentration in operations research and information engineering to further excel in the manufacturing space. He was introduced to the NSBE his freshmen year of college where he discovered his enthusiasm for education and mentorship through volunteering with the local NSBE Jr. chapter. Since then, he has served as the Academic Excellence Chairperson for his collegiate chapter, currently serves as VCU’s President Emeritus, and leads the Region II Programs Zone as the Programs Chairperson. Combining the wisdom from key influencers such as Eric Thomas, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Marcus Garvey, T.D. Jakes, and Clarence Vinson, he helps creates the path forward for our members. Ultimately, Roderick commits to leveraging his leadership position to instill the history and success of our community into individuals. Through year-long engagements in each sector of NSBE programming, this knowledge will further enable all levels of the membership to refine their “why” and “how".

JORGE ZAMUDIO

Parliamentarian

Jorge Zamudio is a Senior Mechanical Engineering Major, Engineering Management Minor at The Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. He currently serves his region as the Region Two (HYPE!) Parliamentarian. During his free time, he loves creating with his camera. Zamudio hopes to have more work published soon.
